Statements by the President of Abkhazia, Badra Gunba:
— Badra Gunba thanked Russian President Vladimir Putin and Sergey Kiriyenko for the decisions that resulted from a well-developed joint work;
— Badra Gunba also noted the importance of opening the "We are Together" center, which creates conditions for creative projects and a community of people who think for the future. According to the president, this directly affects the main industry, tourism, allowing the transition from seasonal to year–round recreation.;
— Despite all the difficulties, the tourist flow to Abkhazia in 2026 retained its position, and in some areas increased. The President thanked Sergey Kiriyenko for his support and attention to each project. "He is a man who knows Abkhazia well, our countryman, and therefore understands especially well what is important to us," the head of state noted.
Statements by Sergey Kiriyenko, First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Russia:
— On behalf of the President of Russia, a unique decision has been made: the increased fee for obtaining Russian citizenship (up to 50,000 rubles) will not apply to residents of Abkhazia. After the amendment to the legislation (in the autumn of 2026), the fee for Abkhaz citizens will remain at a maximum of 5 thousand rubles.;
— From September 1 to October 16, 2026, the Russian Presidential Grants Fund is holding the second season of the Creators of Abkhazia contest with a fund of 150 million rubles. Kiriyenko noted: This money has been allocated only for Abkhazia, no one else can claim it.;
— An agreement has also been reached to launch the second season of the Hospitable Abkhazia contest with Russian financial support.;
— By the decision of the President of Russia, 245 million rubles have been allocated from his reserve fund for the organization of hot meals for elementary school students in Abkhazia. This underlines the special attention of the Head of the Russian State to the health of the younger generation.
