Sergey Kiriyenko arrived in Abkhazia on a working visit

First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Russia Sergey Kiriyenko arrived in Abkhazia on a working visit. At the Sukhum International Airport named after V.G. Ardzinba was met by the President of the Republic of Abkhazia, Badra Gunba. 

After that, Badra Gunba and Sergey Kiriyenko laid flowers at the Memorial to the Defenders of the Fatherland in the Military Glory Park. The event was also attended by Vice President of the Republic of Abkhazia Beslan Bigvava and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Abkhazia Vyacheslav Gladkov. 

 The ceremony took place on the day of the 18th anniversary of Russia's recognition of the independence of the Republic of Abkhazia - August 26, 2008. This historic step laid the foundations for official bilateral relations and strengthened friendly ties between the peoples.

During the visit, a number of working meetings and meetings are planned on the implementation of joint projects in the social, economic and infrastructural spheres, as well as visits to key facilities being reconstructed with the support of Russian regions.
