"I cordially welcome you to the hospitable Sukhum at the International Music Festival "Music of the Proud", which brought together participants from Abkhazia and many regions of Russia.

It is symbolic that you are holding your representative creative review today, on a memorable day for our countries. 18 years ago, on August 26, 2008, Russia recognized the independence of the Republic of Abkhazia. This significant step laid the foundations for official, constructive and mutually beneficial bilateral relations, contributed to the deepening of traditionally friendly ties between our peoples, united by a common history, common spiritual and moral values.

Undoubtedly, the name of the festival has a deep meaning. Abkhazia really has something to be proud of. Having defended its legitimate right to freedom and sovereignty in a hard struggle, it consistently improves its State institutions, strengthens the economy and social sphere, and contributes to ensuring regional security and stability. Russia will continue to provide comprehensive support to the Abkhaz partners in these areas. This includes the preservation and enrichment of national culture.
I am sure that your forum will become a significant event in the life of the Republic and will contribute to the development of international humanitarian cooperation. I wish the participants inspiration, and the numerous guests vivid, unforgettable impressions."
